This is the third step from the Install Instructions for TechIDManager.


3 Technician Setup for TechIDClient.Windows

These instructions are aimed at technicians, covering the setup for TechIDManager Technician accounts with TechIDClient. Once a manager actives your technician account, your relevant accounts on your clients’ networks will be created. These credentials will show up on the Managed Password tab of the TechIDClient.

These steps are written with the Windows version of TechIDClient in mind, but similar steps may be followed for other platforms. Should difficulties arise with setting up TechIDClient on another platform, don’t hesitate to contact us for help, or book installation assistance.

Install TechIDClient

Download the latest TechIDClient from: https://techidmanager.com/releases

TechIDClient_version_X.Ywindows.msi downloaded to your computer.

Run the downloaded TechIDClient_version_X.Ywindows.msi file and follow the on-screen instructions to install TechIDClient onto your machine.

Run TechIDClient, either from the Start menu or your desktop.

This requires .NET Framework 10.0, which you may be prompted to install when starting it for the first time.

The TechIDClient startup wizard opens.

Follow the on-screen instructions for the setup wizard. Do not forget your passphrase.

You will need your assigned Username and your organization’s ClientGuid. Check your inbox for an email including this information, and contact management if you do not see one.

After completing the setup wizard, notify management that you have completed your portion of the setup.

TechIDClient opens onto the Managed Passwords tab, with your username in the top right corner. Your account is now pending activation, so you will not see any credentials listed.

Once management activates your account, refresh your TechIDClient. You will then see your accounts in TechIDClient and be able to use them.


Your new IT service interface is now ready to go. Consult with your management for next steps.

Note for Management: Technicians only represent one end of the TechIDManager environment. With your technicians onboarded, continue onwards and install TechIDAgent on the devices you need managed.
